BEFORE PRACTICE

  • All swimmers/divers who are coming from home (asynchronous and 2nd practice) will need to arrive in their suits.

  • Only swimmers/divers directly coming from school will have access to the locker rooms to change before practice.

  • All swimmers/divers will be required to wear a mask on entry to the facility, and will keep their mask on until they are ready to enter the pool for practice.

  • Swimmers/divers will be met by a coach at the entrance to the STORE ROOM (adjacent to stands entrance) where their temperature will be taken. Swimmers with a temp over 100.4 will be asked to go home. After a successful scan swimmers will enter the pool through the store room.

  • Once they enter the pool they will proceed to one of thirty six predetermined spots that will be marked on deck. Their spot # will be given to them after their temp scan. This spot will be where they place their belongings and prepare for practice.

  • Swimmers who need to change will be released 5-10 at a time to get changed. Practices of a single sex will have access to both locker rooms (5 in each).  Spots for changing will be marked in both locker rooms.

  • After changing all swimmers will return to their staging are and prepare for entry into the pool. Swimmers will be released by in water position (distributed at practice) one position at a time. I.e. Middle of pool swimmer, flags swimmers, wall swimmers.

DURING PRACTICE

  • Swimmers will be positioned to maintain social distancing between sets. There are three applicable lane formations that could be employed depending on numbers. 1) 4 swimmers per lane - right side wall at both ends, left side flags at both ends. 2) 5 swimmers per lane - same as 4 swimmers, but with an extra swimmer starting in the middle of the pool. 3) 6 swimmers per lane - right side wall, left side flags, ride side 15M mark at both ends.

  • All swimmers in the lane will start a set at the same time unless otherwise specified. This will preserve lane flow.

  • Equipment will not be used regularly, and if it is used will be disinfected after practice.

  • Any mass movement of athletes will be done in masks. Largely we will move athletes in small groups. For example if we are going to the blocks and have 4 swimmers per lane we would release as followed: deep end wall, shallow end wall, deep end flags, shallow end flags.

AFTER PRACTICE

  • At the completion of practice swimmers will be removed from the pool as described directly above. They will return to their initial staging number.

  • As soon as they return to their staging number they will put their mask on immediately.

  • SWIMMERS/DIVERS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE LOCKER ROOMS AFTER PRACTICE. EACH SWIMMER WILL NEED TO BRING WARM CLOTHING THAT THEY CAN WEAR OVER THEIR SUIT ON THEIR EXIT FROM THE FACILITY.

  • When all swimmers/divers are ready they will be released to the football field via the door at the shallow end of the pool. In a single file line they will walk down the bleachers and up the ramp to the parking lot.
